A Dose of Care: PANADO® SHARES A DOSE OF CARE WITH IHATA SHELTER
With so many important causes out there, Panado® recognises how important additional support can be. Often, shelters are forgotten yet they are often the only lifeblood for those living in vulnerable locations.
Through ‘A Dose Of Care’ journey, Panado® honoured IHATA Shelter for abused women and children. With 13 years of service in the community, IHATA Shelter has become a household name in the Manenberg area and its dedicated team is the backbone of its operations.
Committed to growing, educating, and inspiring women, IHATA Shelter endeavours to provide a holistic service to correct all the areas in the lives of those living in the community, so that they return to society as whole, beneficial human beings.
Since its inception, IHATA Shelter has directly helped more than 4000 women with empowerment, counselling, shelter, clothing, food, and protection and assisted countless others seeking support with domestic abuse/violent situations. The shelter is open to all women affected by abuse regardless of race, religion, or socio-economic status.

Panado’s® ‘A Dose of Care’ campaign wants to share a dose of care with those who really need it. Together with the Afternoon Express, they’re sharing the work of do-gooders by lifting others and helping alleviate disadvantaged communities through ‘A Dose Of Care’ journey.
Palesa Tembe, host of Afternoon Express, spent time with the team at IHATA Shelter and saw the impact the Shelter’s programmes have in educating, uplifting and empowering vulnerable women.
When asked to choose someone to receive ‘A Dose Of Care’ matched by Afternoon Express, the Shelter’s COO, Nuraan Osman nominated Lily Haven, a project of IHATA group, which extends crucial services to the elderly, particularly those who don’t have a safe place to stay.
Supporting each other in times of pain and stress is really encouraged. Showing kindness and sharing some care is something anyone can do, on any day, and that’s precisely what ‘A Dose Of Care’ is about.
As South Africans, we endure a great deal. There are so many unsung heroes who do so much without expecting anything in return, and that’s precisely what ‘A Dose Of Care’ is about.
